What is a Fiber Laser Marking machine

Fiber laser marking is the most reliable technology for permanent marking on metal. Unlike labels, inks or hot stamping, laser engraving does not fade, does not come off with cleaning and withstands industrial conditions. It is ideal for serial numbers, barcodes, QR / Datamatrix, logos and compliance data on metal surfaces, with high detail and speed.

Types — which one to choose

  • Table (table-top): the most common choice for accuracy, stability and repeatability — workshops, production lines, small parts.
  • Hand-held (portable): for large or fixed objects that cannot be moved — on-the-spot marking of large structures.
  • Separated (separate unit): flexibility & ergonomics for special installations and industrial setups.

Materials & what it marks

  • Materials: stainless steel (inox), aluminum (plain & anodized), steel, brass, copper, painted/coated surfaces.
  • Marking: serial numbers, batch codes, QR / Datamatrix, barcodes, logos, names, compliance data.

Technical specifications

  • Laser source: Raycus, power 10W / 20W / 30W / 50W.
  • Working area: 150×150, 250×250 or 300×300 mm (depending on the lens).
  • Resolution: 4500 DPI · Positioning accuracy: 0.01mm · Speed: up to 800 mm/s per character.
  • Software: EZCAD · Interface: USB 2.0 · Voltage: 220V.
  • Supported files: HPGL, BMP, GIF, JPG, JPEG, DXF, DST, AI.

Applications

Fiber marking covers industrial part marking, metal nameplates, electrical panels, tools & molds, as well as specialized applications such as fiber marking for jewelry (micro-engraving on gold, silver, stainless steel) and animal ear tag marking with laser & RFID. In every case the result is permanent and durable.

Marking or metal cutting?

If you want to engrave/mark metal, fiber marking is the right solution. If you want to cut metal, see our metal cutting fiber lasers with 1.5–12kW power.

Accuracy, speed & repeatability

With 4500 DPI resolution and 0.01mm positioning accuracy, fiber marking delivers crisp results even on very small lettering, QR codes and fine lines. Speeds of up to 800 mm/s per character and the EZCAD software enable fast, repeatable production for serial marking, with no consumables or chemicals.

How to choose power & type

For general surface marking and engraving, 20–30W is the most common choice; for deeper engraving or higher speed, a higher power (50W) is selected. For accuracy & production choose table, for portability hand-held, and for a flexible industrial setup separated.

What's included in the delivery

  • Raycus laser source.
  • EZCAD software & parameter setup.
  • Operator training.
  • Installation & technical support.
  • Spare parts & service throughout Greece.

Advantages of fiber marking over other methods

Compared to mechanical engraving, chemical etching, labels or hot stamping, fiber laser marking delivers a permanent result with no wear, no consumables and no chemicals. It requires no contact with the workpiece, so there is no mechanical stress, and quality remains consistent over thousands of repetitions. This makes it ideal for industrial traceability, where every part must carry a unique, legible and durable code.

Operating cost & maintenance

The fiber source has a very long service life and minimal maintenance needs, and uses no inks or consumables. The cost per marking is therefore extremely low, making the investment worthwhile even for small production volumes. Energy consumption is limited and operation is straightforward through the EZCAD software.

Workflow & integration into production

The EZCAD software supports a wide range of file types (HPGL, BMP, JPG, DXF, AI, etc.) and makes it easy to create serial numbers, variable data and QR codes. With stable jigs/fixtures, marking is fast and repeatable, integrating fiber marking into production lines without delays.

Safety & proper use

Although fiber marking is safe in professional use, it requires basic protective measures: suitable safety glasses for the fiber laser wavelength, proper ventilation for certain materials and a stable work base. Table-top models with an enclosure make operator control and safety easier, while the training we provide ensures correct, safe and efficient operation from day one. With proper use and minimal maintenance, the machine delivers reliable production for years.
